SPECIAL SERVICES

Maundy Thursday – April 1, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

wedding ringsThe Wedding Feast: For many of us Maundy Thursday is a reminder of the impending suffering and shame that Jesus would experience on that night but the Gospel of John opens our eyes to so much more. This night is not the just the night before Jesus death. It is a night filled with the promise of Jesus love for all and the promise to return for His Bride, the Church!

You’re invited to a Wedding Feast! Come and share in this wonderful night of fellowship, sacrifice, truth and grace as we break bread together and share the Bread of Life and the Cup of Salvation. RSVP would be very useful in planning for the meal, but not necessary for you to attend. Please take a few moments now to LET US KNOW YOU ARE COMING.

Weeping Tree

Good Friday – April 2, 7:30 p.m.

A service of worship and reflection on the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Chancel Choir and Hiland Orchestra will present The Weeping Tree by Joseph Martin. The weeping tree, which once provided comfort and shelter to those who passed by her, was cut and fashioned with evil intent into a cross thereby becoming the symbol of life and grace. The Weeping Tree is a moving orchestration that focuses our attention on the cross and other symbols associated with the crucifixion. The mix of hymns, newer compositions and narration beautifully tell the story of Man’s redemption through our Savior’s death on the cross.

Blended Worship – 9:30 a.m. on Sunday Mornings

Join us for a blended style of worship that respects the desires of all.  It offers a mix of music that includes traditional hymns; anthems that offer any style imaginable; special music that may be contemporary in nature or traditional; contemporary praise songs; and occasional medleys that are comprised of traditional hymns, or contemporary and traditional songs.  Always, you will find music that will lead in worship and be reflective of the message of that day.  Also, the first Sunday of the month includes the celebration of Communion.  After the Children’s Sermon,  children ages four years old through second grade are welcomed to remain in worship with their families or to join their peers in Children and Worship which coincides with the Sunday Worship service. A nursery is available for the littlest ones (infant through three years old).

FOR THE KIDS

Children and Worship after the Children’s Sermon during Sunday Worship

Children (*3 years old – 2nd grade) are excused after the children’s sermon to attend Children and Worship, a multi-sensory approach to telling the stories of the Bible. They share prayer time, sing and respond to the story they hear by drawing and creating pictures. Once a month they have a “feast” as the church family celebrates Communion. (*3 year olds must currently be in a 3-year old preschool program)
