2012 is the Year of The Story at Hiland – Join us in this great adventure! Not only will we be learning from The Story in weekly sermons, but we will have an opportunity to expand on our knowledge of God’s Word presented in The Story in our children’s, youth, and adult ministries.

REGULAR SERVICES
Blended Worship – 9:30 a.m. on Sunday Mornings
Join us for a blended style of worship that respects the desires of all. It offers a mix of music that includes traditional hymns; anthems that offer any style imaginable; special music that may be contemporary in nature or traditional; contemporary praise songs; and occasional medleys that are comprised of traditional hymns, or contemporary and traditional songs. Always, you will find music that will lead in worship and be reflective of the message of that day. Also, the first Sunday of the month includes the celebration of Communion. After the Children’s Sermon, children ages four years old through second grade are welcomed to remain in worship with their families or to join their peers in Children and Worship which coincides with the Sunday Worship service. A nursery is available for the littlest ones (infant through three years old).
FOR THE KIDS
Kids’ Worship: ( SEPTEMBER – MAY)
Children and Worship is available to our *3 & 4-year old children. This worship is a multi-sensory approach to telling the stories of the Bible. They share prayer time, sing and respond to the story they hear by drawing and creating pictures. Once a month they have a “feast” as the church family celebrates Communion. (*3 year olds must currently be in a 3-year old preschool program)
Kidz Worship is available for our kindergarten through 3rd grader. This is a worship experience for children that is similar to the worship service for the adults. The outline in the worship guide is the same for the children. The difference is we will be learning about topics that are not typically covered in traditional Sunday School. We will be learning about the Sanctuary and all the parts and places of each element of worship. Each element will be explored by the children in a variety of ways over four-week periods in which crafts, music, cooking, art and motions will be used to help the children understand and remember what they are learning about the worship of God.
Summer Sunday School (June – August):
Children (*3 years old – 2nd grade) will be excused after the Children’s Sermon and go to the Choir Room for a lesson from “Journey with Jesus,” a snack and music. Children may be out on the playground (weather permitting) enjoying God’s creation but for the most part will be in the Sanctuary building. (*3-year olds must have participated in a preschool program.)
