She visits regularly with Hiland’s Child Care and Preschool classes to share the Children & Worship stories with the children.
Chad Johnson, Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Chad has been involved in youth Ministry for over 20 years and has been at Hiland since the spring of 2004. After spending almost ten years in outdoor ministry he began to feel the call to Youth & Young Adult Ministry. He loves providing a safe place for young people to be themselves as they explore their faith through scripture study, prayer, fellowship, and service. Chad is passionate about encouraging young people to be active in their community through service and leadership. He loves to partner with many organizations giving students a variety of ways to serve and live out their faith.
Chad has been married to his perfect and tolerant wife Katie since 2004 and together they are partners in parenting to their two children Chloe and Caleb. Being a parent is Chad’s greatest joy and he loves sharing that responsibility with Katie! His faith has been shaped through experience that he shares with the young people of the community. Chad incorporates his family life into being an active member of the community through helping to coach softball, as a scout leader, and helping out with odd jobs around the area.
He serves the greater church in many ways including but not limited to the Trinity Youth Conference as part of their planning team, workshop leader, and Director, serving as President of Friends of TYC, and partnering alongside other ministries. Being a mentor and encourager to the students and young adults is something that Chad takes very serious all while having a healthy sense of humor
Cindy Plazek, Director of Music Ministry (email@example.com)
Hiland’s Music Director and Organist, Cynthia Plazek graduated with a B.A. from Duquesne University, and has enjoyed sharing her musical talents with 10 different congregations from Michigan to Pittsburgh for the past 45 years. Cindy’s Mom Dorothy was a pianist, and encouraged her to pursue church music. So, at age 12, just as Vatican II began to flower in the Catholic Church, Cindy began studying organ and playing services. Cindy believes sacred music should foster full, conscious, active musical participation from the congregation . Her goals also include helping her private students, choir members, and instrumentalists serve and praise God in song. Cindy is married to Joe, a former drummer and radio deejay. Their 4 children possess and nurture their own musical abilities; the two girls make their living in music; the two boys play, sing and enjoy music. The couple lives in Ross Township with their pets; for fun, they fish on Lake Chautauqua and watch movies together.
